The reactor

Changing room access building - BAV: During the operational phase, personnel required to work in the JHR will enter and exit though this building in compliance with the operational procedures of a licensed nuclear facility (INB)

Auxiliary building - BUA: This building is connected to the reactor building and contains all the systems needed to support reactor operations and experimentation

Assembly building - BMM: New experimental devices will be assembled, tested and stored in this building before being transferred into the reactor building for installation

Core systems building: BND This building contains the systems used for reactor monitoring in the event of an emergency (in line with the new post-Fukushima safety requirements)

Reactor building- BUR: The reactor building houses the JHR core activities, i.e. the reactor pool containing the reactor block and the experimental devices

Safeguard building (train A): This building contains the diesel generators, i.e. the backup systems allowing the reactor to continue operating safely in the event of an earthquake or any other serious incident

Safeguard building (train B): This building contains the diesel generators, i.e. the backup systems allowing the reactor to continue operating safely in the event of an earthquake or any other serious incident

Cooling water building - BMR: This tertiary cooling water building is where the Provence Canal water comes into the JHR facility for the reactor
