On February the 3rd 2022 has been achieved the assembly of the 6 feedthroughs of the main part of the Secondary Cooling system
The 6 feedthroughs (in red/brown of the left picture) are sections of pipe welded onto sheaths sealed in the concrete wall separating the three primary cubicles from the recovery area. They are located on 2 levels per cubicle and do the junction between the primary heat exchangers (in light blue) and the main secondary cooling system (in green) installed in the leak recovery zone and in the cooling water building .
This work was carried out after the on-site delivery of these cubicles at the end of August 2021. For the entire operation, 24 welds were carried out. The strength tests were subsequently carried out and yielded satisfactory results.
The sequence of work will be followed with the installation of the main secondary cooling system (in green) in the leak recovery zone, in accordance with the project schedule.
