On July the 7th 2022 took place the last operation of the in factory mounting of the reflector.

What is the reflector?

It is used to send neutrons back to the core and ensure the support for experimental devices in fixed locations.
About 4 m high and 1.5 m in diameter, the reflector has 9 sectors connected by the link belt.
These 9 “boxes” accommodate beryllium reflectors, the devices, and channel the circulation of cooling water.
Composed of very thin pieces, a specific riveting process (12300 rivets) had to be developed for the assembly.
Then, the reflector will be disassembled and stored before on site assembly at the same time as the displacement systems.
